Cecil County Inmate Population is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a detainee, post bond, obtain official booking records, or answer emergency calls. Use the government office that holds the record or manages the custody event.

Where to Look First

For Cecil County custody and record questions, start with the office that controls the record type. The Cecil County Sheriff's Office is at 107 Chesapeake Blvd., Suite 112, Elkton, MD 21921, with main phone 410-996-5500. Sheriff Scott A. Adams leads the office, which traces its history to 1674 and marked its 350th anniversary in 2024. Emergencies go to 911.

The Cecil County Detention Center is at 500 Landing Lane, Elkton, MD 21921. The main detention center phone is 410-996-5800, and pretrial or community-corrections questions may use 410-996-5810. Administrative hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Financial Operations is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding holidays. The Cecil County Community Corrections Center shares the Landing Lane address, can be reached at 410-996-5810, and lists fax 410-996-5515.

Central Records public-service hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Call 410-392-2159 to confirm whether a report is available before making a trip. Public records requests may be faxed to the Sheriff's Office Records Department at 410-620-6440. Subpoenas for Central Records go to CCSO Central Records, Custodian of Records, 107 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 100, Elkton, MD 21921.

For SO-222 requests, 1-5 page reports are $5 per report, reports over 5 pages are $1 per page, DVDs and CDs are $25 per disk, color photos are $3 per page, and USB audio or video is $25 up to 64GB, $40 up to 128GB, or $50 up to 256GB. Staff-supervised inspection or reproduction is $22 per hour after the first two research hours. Payment must be by check or money order, not cash.

  • For current county custody, use Maryland VINELink or call the Cecil County Detention Center. The Maryland VINE phone line is 1-866-634-8463, and TTY is 1-866-847-1298. No official Cecil Sheriff's app was found, so the VINE app is the mobile notification alternative. More local custody context appears in jail inmate records.
  • For booking photos, check whether the relevant custody or records source releases the image, then review jail roster mugshots for the public-record limits.
  • For charges filed after an arrest, search Maryland Judiciary Case Search or contact the appropriate clerk's office. The arrest-to-case path is explained in court records after a jail arrest.
  • For incident, property loss, or damage reports, use Central Records and the SO-222 fee schedule. Property loss or damage reports are typically available 10 business days after the incident, but active investigation and pending trial records are not released.
  • For a sentenced Maryland prisoner, search the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services locator rather than a Cecil County jail page.
  • For federal sentenced prisoners, immigration detainees, or federal holds, use the BOP locator, U.S. Marshals Service information, or ICE Online Detainee Locator System as the case requires.
